Where a regular damper acts as a barrier to the passage of air, a thermally insulated damper acts as a barrier to the passage of air and temperature. Acting as a mitigator for heat transfer, these dampers can increase the energy efficiency of a building or operation where heat differentials are present between systems.
Tamco thermally insulated dampers are manufactured with an aluminum shell which is injected with a polyurethane foam to reduce heat transfer. Along the blades, three thermal breaks exist to further isolate warm and cold sides of the damper and prevent the conduction of heat.
