Heavy-Duty, Maintenance-Free, Adjustable

Series 7600 CWA
Adjustable Counterweighted Heavy-Duty Backdraft Damper

Series 7600 CWA
  • Each blade is fitted with a fixed internal counterweight.
  • Additional fully-adjustable external counterbalance weights are mounted outside the airstream. These can be set to relieve air pressure differentials less than 0.01 in. w.g. (3.0 Pa).
  • Counterweights are provided to accelerate opening of blades, and to allow blades to achieve the full open position at lower pressures and airflow velocities.
  • TAMCO heavy-duty backdraft dampers are constructed with robust components to withstand up to 12” w.g. (3.0 kPa) of static pressure and velocities up to 3500 fpm (17.8 m/s).
  • Blades are designed with a rounded head. This reduces pressure loss.
  • The Series 7600 CWA is manufactured with the same dual bearing system used for TAMCO's control dampers, resulting in dependable, consistent, maintenance-free performance.
  • The sturdy, slip-proof linkage system is located in the frame side.
  • Silicone seals are provided as standard to ensure sealing longevity and remain flexible down to -40° F/C.
  • TAMCO Series 7600 CWA is available in two install types: Flanged to Duct or Extended Rear Flange.
  • The Series 7600 CWA can be installed for Airflow Up, Airflow Down, or Horizontal Airflow operation.

  • Caution: Never use any lubricants, such as grease or silicone on TAMCO dampers.

Series 7600 CWA Adjustable Counterweighted Heavy-Duty Backdraft Damper:

  • Ideal for installations requiring a heavy-duty backdraft damper with field-adjustable pressure relief.
  • Used to accelerate opening of blades and designed to allow opening at lower pressures and airflow velocities.
  • Specifically designed for installations requiring a heavy-duty backdraft damper, subjected to elevated velocities and operating pressures.
  • Recommended for use in high-pressure isolation systems, air handling units, gen sets, and fan inlet or fan outlet locations.

ET - Elevated Temperature Option:

  • Suitable for high heat environments where temperatures may reach as high as 300°F (149°C),and where UL regulated control dampers are not a requirement.
  • For use in back-up generator stations, where excessive heat may be an issue.
  • For test laboratory applications, wherever high-heat conditions may exist.
  • A practical solution in mildly acidic applications, where Celcon bearings may not withstand environmental conditions.(See Options for more details.)

MR - Moisture Resistance Option:

  • Suitable for applications where dampers are exposed to extended periods of high humidity or high moisture, such as water treatment facilities, municipal pools, and greenhouses.
  • Cost effective alternative to the Salt Water Resistance Option for applications where salt spray is not a concern. (See Options for more details.)

SW - Salt Water Resistance Option:

  • Ideally suited for coastal climates.
  • Recommended for inland applications, where tire spray from winter-salted roads have been known to corrode dampers installed in close proximity to roads or highways.(See Options for more details.)

Recommendation: In applications where the humidity level is unusually elevated, or where there are extremely high levels of dust and dirt particles, TAMCO recommends that the damper linkage and bearing system should be cleaned once a year. This can be done by blowing away dust using compressed air. If needed, a domestic-strength steam cleaner can be used to loosen dirt, which can then be blown out with compressed air, along with any remaining water droplets.

ET - Elevated Temperature Option:

  • Heavy-duty backdraft dampers are designed for operation in temperatures as high as 300°F (149°C).
  • Bronze-oilite bearings replace Celcon and polycarbonate bearings.

MR - Moisture Resistance Option:

  • All zinc-plated steel hardware is replaced with stainless steel, protecting hardware from rust and corrosion when exposed to high humidity or high moisture environments.

SW - Salt Water Resistance Option:

  • Extruded aluminum frames, blades and hardware are clear anodized to a depth of 0.7 mil. (18 microns). This prevents rusting and pitting when heavy-duty backdraft dampers are exposed to salt spray or high humidity environments.
  • All zinc-plated, steel hardware is replaced wtih stainless steel, protecting hardware from rust and corrosion.
  • All aluminum linkage hardware parts are clear anodized.

Caution: External counterbalance crankarms and weights are not available in stainless steel and may be subject to rust or corrosion in high moisture or salt spray environments.
