Series 1000 SM
UL/ULC Approved Two-Position Smoke Damper
- Smoke dampers are designed for operation in temperatures ranging between -40°F (-40°C) and 250°F (121°C).
- UL/ULC rated Leakage Class 1. This is the best possible leakage class attainable.
- Approved for use with Belimo or Honeywell acutators with 24, 120, or 230 vac, single phase, two-position control.
- AMCA certified for pressure drop.
- Aluminum extrusions contribute to a prolonged and rust-free operational life.
- Bearings are composed of a 2 part (inner and outer) bronze oilite bearing system, fixed to an aluminum hexagon blade pivot pin. This system prevents bearings from rotating directly within the frame and around the axle.
- These dampers are supplied with extremely flexible silicone seals that are resistant to weathering, compression set, and heat, thus ensuring consistent minimal leakage rate performance and sealing longevity.
- Standard blade depth is 6” (152 mm).
Caution: Never use any lubricants, such as grease or silicone on TAMCO dampers.
Series 1000 SM UL/ULC Approved Two-Position Smoke Damper
- TAMCO Series 1000 SM Two-Positon Smoke Dampers are UL/ULC approved for use in passive systems, smoke control systems, and smoke management systems.
- These smoke dampers are designed for use in two-positon applications, where variable volume control is not required.
- Smoke dampers are intended for installation in ducts and air transfer openings that are designed to resist the passage of air and smoke.
- Smoke dampers may be required where ducts penetrate through smoke barriers, or at other locations within an engineered smoke control system.
- They are installed to operate automatically, controlled by a smoke detection system, and where required, capable of being opened or closed from a remote command station.
MR - Moisture Resistance Option:
- Suitable for applications where dampers are exposed to extended periods of high humidity or high moisture, such as water treatment facilities, municipal pools, and greenhouses.
- Cost effective alternative to the Salt Water Resistance Option for applications where salt spray is not a concern. (See Options for more details.)
SW - Salt Water Resistance Option:
- Ideally suited for coastal climates.
- Recommended for inland applications, where tire spray from winter-salted roads have been known to corrode dampers installed in close proximity to roads or highways. (See Options for more details.)
Recommendation: In applications where the humidity level is unusually elevated, or where there are extremely high levels of dust and dirt particles, TAMCO recommends that the damper linkage and bearing system should be cleaned once a year. This can be done by blowing away dust using compressed air. If needed, a domestic-strength steam cleaner can be used to loosen dirt, which can then be blown out with compressed air, along with any remaining water droplets.
TAMCO Series 1000 SM meets the requirements for smoke dampers established by:
- UL 555S/ULC-S112.1: Classification File R16679
- National Fire Protection Association: NFPA Standards 80, 90A, 92, 101, 105
- California State Fire Marshall: Listing#: 3230-2116:0100
MR - Moisture Resistance Option:
- All zinc-plated steel hardware is replaced with stainless steel, protecting hardware from rust and corrosion when exposed to high humidity or high moisture environments.
SW - Salt Water Resistance Option:
- Extruded aluminum frames, blades and hardware are clear anodized to a depth of 0.7 mil. (18 microns). This prevents rusting and pitting when dampers are exposed to salt spray or high humidity environments.
- Blade and frame seals are extruded silicone, for reduced air leakage.
- All zinc-plated, steel hardware is replaced wtih stainless steel, protecting hardware from rust and corrosion.
- All aluminum linkage hardware parts are clear anodized.
