Vertical Jackshafts
connecting two vertical sections

Vertical Jack Shaft and face blade brackets

VERTICAL JACKSHAFT CONNECTED TO FACE BLADE BRACKETS:

  • Ensure damper sections are properly installed. (See TAMCO Aluminum Damper Installation Guidelines.)
  • Loosen the set screws on each face blade bracket's swivel to allow the removal of the face blade bracket from the vertical jackshaft's 5/16" (8 mm) diameter rod cap ends.
  • With both damper sections closed, undo the hex nuts on the drive blade U-bolts. Position the face blade bracket over the U-bolt (with the swivel at the top) and secure the bracket with the hex nuts. For Series 9000 dampers, retain the spacing plate located in the blade channel.)
  • Insert the vertical jackshaft's 5/16" (8 mm) diameter rod cap ends into the face blade bracket swivels. Ensuring that the damper sections are fully closed, tighten the set screws.
  • If any adjustment is required, reposition the rod cap end in the face blade bracket swivel until both sections close fully.
  • Retighten the swivel and verify damper closure.
  • Repeat the adjustment procedure if necessary.
  • If assistance is required, call TAMCO CUSTOMER SERVICE 1-800-561-3449.

NOTE:

Installation design may require vertical jackshaft to be installed along with horizontal jackshafts. Please refer to TAMCO Horizontal Jackshaft Installation Guidelines for installation instructions specific to standard jackshafts.
